Lisbon Stay at Roma Boulevard

Inside, the hotel was clean and looked after, although the outside is a little dated. My room had everything I needed and was very clean. There was a variety of food at breakfast each morning, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I stayed three nights with a tour group and will be back at the end of the tour to catch my flight home. I’m happy with that plan.

The restaurant gave me food poisoning, and when I told the hotel the next morning, all they said was “ok.” I hadn’t asked for compensation, I just wanted them to know, so the complete lack of care was really disappointing. I was very weak, but managed to pull myself together for a long train ride. The hotel I stayed at afterward cared more about me than this one did. The hotel itself is just “ok.” It’s far from the city centre, though close to the metro. Housekeeping kept taking away towels, and by my second day I was left with just one.

The beds were comfortable, and the hotel was nice and clean, right by the metro station. Breakfast was decent. My only complaint is the lifts are quite small for the number of rooms. There are only two, they work on different systems, and you have to press two buttons to call them.

The building's exterior doesn't look like much, but inside we were pleasantly surprised. The staff were warm and helpful throughout, and the included breakfast had a great range of choices. We were upgraded to a suite with plenty of space and a private balcony, which I'd recommend if you're staying more than a day. There's a Metro station just up the street, along with a grocery store and lots of restaurants. I'd definitely stay here again.
