The apartment was clean and in a handy spot, with a metro stop and supermarket about a seven-minute walk away. The kitchen had the basic cookware and coffee pods, and there were enough toiletries. Parking was tricky since street spaces were for residents, but there’s a garage in the same building as the metro and supermarket, inside a huge mall. It was about €19 a day. There were several things that need attention. Water lingered in the bathroom for at least 15 minutes after a shower, the toilet seat was loose, and the dishwasher was loud enough to disturb our sleep. Its gasket kept coming loose, so we had to put it back in place each time. One dining chair was wobbly and seemed at risk of breaking, with no warning from the host. The host was friendly when we met and said to message if anything was missing. We did, because the crib we’d requested for our baby wasn’t there, but he never answered or brought one. The apartment needs maintenance.

The host was lovely, quick to reply and very welcoming. The apartment is comfortable and well placed near Campo Pequeno and plenty of other things. It was a hot day and there’s no A/C, but fans and a little breeze kept things manageable.

I booked the apartment on Booking.com for a relative, but the reservation was cancelled without any explanation. I then had to scramble to find somewhere else at a different price. The owner sent one WhatsApp message, but only after the cancellation, and didn’t call or apologize. A really bad experience. Even with all the positive reviews, I wouldn’t recommend it given how guests were treated. Paulo is dishonest and doesn’t follow through.

The apartments are pleasant, with basic bedrooms and beds that feel fair for the price. They’re a bit out of the way, though the metro isn’t too far and works very well.

A nicely renovated apartment in an old building. The landlord was nice, and it’s not far from either the metro or a bus stop.
