The terrace was a highlight, with incredible views over Luso and the sunset. The building and its decor feel like stepping into another reality, and the welcoming staff made us feel at home. The bed was comfortable enough, and staying somewhere so unusual was an experience in itself. We found it overpriced. Our budget room was in the basement without a proper window, and although the bed was comfortable, sounds from the wooden main floor carried clearly. Breakfast had very few options for vegans or vegetarians. The garden was poorly maintained, the pool was under maintenance, and the garden furniture could have been cleaner and more inviting.

Our basic room was fine, and breakfast was standard. Getting to the rooms meant using a very narrow, winding staircase. The in-room safe was smaller than a shoebox and needed a key that wasn’t provided.

We loved our stay at this very pleasant hotel. It has over 130 years of history and antique furnishings that give it an old-time feel. The swimming pool was great, and the staff were nice and kept the place clean.

The staff were very helpful, the bed was comfy, and the hot tub and pool were both nice. Breakfast was excellent, with eggs, bacon, cheese, fruit, cake, cereals, and more. The old house is full of beautiful decorative details and feels like a little palace, a different kind of stay. I’d suggest some improvements to help preserve it and make it even more beautiful.

I really liked the place, especially the jetted tub and the helpful staff. Breakfast was great, with eggs, bacon, fruit, and more. The mattress could’ve been more comfortable. It’s a lovely antique building in a beautiful setting, with lovely grounds.
