After a long day on the Fishermen’s Trail, the large, comfortable room and its lovely view made for a relaxing stop at Hotel Belavista da Luz. We were pleasantly surprised by the big pool, the good selection at breakfast, and the nice cosmetics in the room. The staff were kind and welcoming throughout our one-night stay. We'd happily recommend it.

The room had a dirty shower covered in mould, though the Rituals shampoo and conditioner were lovely. There was no room service, noise from upstairs, and breakfast was poor. After walking 15 kms of the fisherman’s trail, we had a slow check-in that took 30 minutes, and Google couldn't find the hotel, so we missed the spa. Victor was helpful and understanding, and let us keep one room so we could use it. Elke, the receptionist, was rude and lacked hospitality. It felt like they cared about groups. We were totally disappointed and will never be back.

The pool bar had fair prices and a nice atmosphere, and breakfast offered plenty of choice. Dinner at the restaurant was excellent, though it was very quiet. Our spacious family room looked recently refurbished, with a balcony big enough for an evening drink, and the views were great with a steady breeze. The hilltop setting gave us some space from Praia da Luz's relative bustle. Most guests seemed to be couples or adult groups, but our kids were welcome. All the staff were friendly.

The pool, bar, and restaurant were excellent, and the friendly staff made the stay nice. Rooms were comfortable with great views, and the spa was lovely. The gym could use a few more weights, while the padel court was a bonus. Breakfast buffet was 5/5. Most things looked updated, but the bed was too firm and due for a refresh, and the showers were hot but had weak pressure.
