Casa Moreira by Atlantic Holiday

We were in the upstairs apartment, which was spotless and lovely, with a well-equipped kitchen and a roomy, modern bathroom. The road up is steep, and fast cars with loud engines can be a nuisance during the day. The house is also in the last row by the industrial area, so it may not suit you if you plan to spend much daytime indoors. We had no trouble with noise at night. For hiking and seeing the northeast coast and São Lourenço Peninsula, it worked really well as a base. There are a few small shops within walking distance, and Machico, with everything you might need, is about a 10 minute drive. After a long hike, relaxing in the jacuzzi with a glass of madeira and looking toward Caniçal and the mountains was hard to beat. Just face that way, away from the factory. I’d definitely recommend it for a place to unwind after days out exploring.
