A month and a half before we were due to arrive, I arranged everything with Marco and paid a deposit. He said the place was booked, confirmed again the day before, and sent the location. Then, while we were on our way to the apartment, he said he had "overbooking" and cancelled our booking. He returned the money, but I was left in Madeira during high season without a place to stay, with a small child. I had to urgently rent somewhere else at a much higher price. Whether you want to rent from someone like this is up to you. I wouldn't.
