The Ferreira family did everything they could to make our stay comfortable. Casa do Alto is a unique place, with an incredible view of the Douro. In my opinion, this private accommodation has excellent facilities, including a private pool, for enjoying the loveliest days of the year.

We spent five weeks here and are already looking forward to coming back. The host family were so warm and charming, always attentive and helpful. They even surprised us with baskets of fresh eggs, vegetables, or fruit. The charming holiday home is meticulously maintained, and the dreamy garden and lovely pool look out over the Douro River. It was a truly special place for peace and relaxation.

A superb base for exploring the Douro Valley, and you can also visit Amarante, Braga, and Porto. The view of the Douro River is exceptional, and the exterior, garden, and pool are beautiful and pleasant. Inside, the house is tastefully decorated and very functional. The hosts are welcoming.
