We only stayed two days, but we'll definitely be back, and we'll bring friends. Maria and José are the kindest, most attentive, generous hosts we've ever met, and their Quinta is breathtaking. Life here has clearly grown over time, and experiencing it as a guest feels truly special. You're right by the water, with kayaks, bikes, pizza dough for the oven, and even their dogs for company. They seem genuinely happy to have you there. The photos don't do it justice. If you find this gem, don't hesitate to book it. Every five-star review is true. Obrigado!

We arrived to a warm welcome from Maria and her sweet dogs, then she showed us around the property and shared its history. Don't miss that tour. The place felt like a magical home away from home, and Maria's kindness and charm made the stay unforgettable. She worked around our check-in time and was sensitive to our plans, which were pretty open since this was a spur-of-the-moment visit. Maria suggested plenty of things to do, on our own or with her: a tour of the area, canoeing, hiking, yoga, a massage, cooking together, and more. We treasure every moment there and will return to visit Maria and her Casa. If you're unsure about booking, don't be. You won't regret a second at Casa do Rio.

Lordes is the best hostess ever, no exaggeration. She went above and beyond at every turn to make our stay amazing. The place itself is paradise, and we're so grateful we got to experience Casa do Rio. If you get the chance to stay here, don't pass it up. I promise you won't regret it!

The owner is so attentive and clearly cares about making guests happy. She kept surprising us with little touches to make the stay wonderful. The two dogs are incredibly sweet, and it's a perfectly dog-friendly place. They even walked us to the door when we left! If you want peace somewhere that feels safe, this is an ideal spot, with the river nearby adding to the calm. Honestly, it's one of the most beautiful places I've visited in a long, long time. Everything was flawless, and we were so pleased with our stay.

We celebrated my mom's birthday at Casa do Rio, a perfect gem in the Douro valley with everything you need for a quiet stay by the River. Maria was an amazing host. She baked us a cake, and we made pizza together with fresh vegetables from her garden. We're grateful for this unique experience and will be back ♥️
