Pedacinho de Mundo Douro

What sunrises! We had a brilliant stay in this little paradise through a heatwave. Between the outdoor pool, the air conditioning inside, and the lovely cool views of the river and mountains, we couldn't have been more comfortable. We needed somewhere special because health issues meant we couldn't go out sightseeing, and this turned out to be perfect. Breakfast is available and was really good. We also ordered delivery online, both groceries and meals from restaurants. The house is so comfortable for reading, board games, listening to music, or watching films. The staff were incredibly lovely and attentive too. A ten doesn't do it justice.

It's an ideal retreat to relax and switch off from the outside world. The view is incredible, and the house is comfortable and convenient, with tasteful, refined decor. It's not accessible for people with reduced mobility. Pets are allowed, and the fully fenced surrounding area made it a pleasant stay for our dog too.

It's so peaceful here that all you hear are the sounds of nature. There are two well-equipped houses, both decorated in a lovely contemporary style, and each has a pool at a comfortable temperature with direct views of the water. One smaller house suits a couple and two small children, or a couple looking for a romantic setting; the other sleeps six. The host was always available, attentive, and helpful. You don't need to buy anything when you arrive. If you're staying longer, the nearby supermarkets are handy. The host also shared the number for a restaurant that delivers generous portions at affordable prices, and the food came fairly quickly. We'll definitely come back!

The location is exceptional, but that's it. It's far too expensive for what you get. The bathroom is disgusting and smells bad, and the shower switches from hot to cold water after a minute. The pool water is cold, even though the owner says it's warm!
