The breakfast buffet was amazing, and the staff were so friendly that we felt welcome and special. My wife, our two young kids and I stayed earlier this summer and loved the clean, beautiful hotel, its big garden and spectacular river views. We especially enjoyed having both a regular pool and a natural one. There’s plenty to explore nearby, from culture and food to sports and nature. We hope to come back.

The place feels like a museum where every object has its own story. The owner has a wonderful eye for style and has given old things a new life, including a 200-year-old door used as a bed’s headboard and lamps made from wicker baskets. There are so many distinctive details that catch your attention. You’ll want to pause as you go around and take in the clever surprises and the atmosphere of a Portuguese rural fairy tale.

Tamaca and the surrounding area made for a wonderful stay. We loved the nature, the excellent food, the charming little Portuguese villages and the friendly people. The rooms were lovely, and special mention goes to the breakfast and to the owners and staff, who welcomed us so warmly and made us feel at home. We’ll be back!

The rooms have exceptional design, created by the owner, as is the rest of the hotel. There are lots of cosy spots around the house to relax, plus badminton gear and SUPs for the natural pool. The brand-new pool has breathtaking views, with umbrellas and sunbeds beside it. Breakfast was delicious and offered plenty of choice. The owners were warm and welcoming, and the location and surroundings are beautiful. We really enjoyed our stay and recommend it for families with or without children.
