A clean, modest hotel.
It feels more like a pension than a hotel. The atmosphere seems family-run, and the staff are very friendly. I visited a cousin who was staying there, but they wouldn’t let us in. I managed to peek inside and noticed that the staff were all older and friendly, but very shy, as if they were afraid to talk or even open the door. My cousin said she had stayed twice and was always treated well, but never told me anything about the conditions. It’s strange that the door is always locked and nobody can enter before answering questions like how old they are, even if they’re an adult of, for example, 40 years old. The curtains in the rooms are always closed, and you never see guests coming or going. Nobody in town seems to know details about the rooms, such as whether they’re clean or have a bathtub, or anything else. All people seem to know is that there are set hours for ringing the bell. It was recently renovated, but since then I haven’t seen anyone there or outside unloading supplies for the hotel. In the past, I did see food being delivered.
The gentleman at reception was very friendly and approachable, and the lady serving breakfast was lovely and kind. We were welcomed so warmly. I enjoyed our stay in Leça, and perhaps we’ll meet again someday. (Group of friends from Madeira) Thank you.
The beds were comfortable, the service was good, and the place is close to everything: cafés, the station, shopping, and bars. The showers are small, and the TVs could be better, since they’re a bit small and old-fashioned. Apart from that, very good.
Loved it. It’s top notch for a rest, very clean, and the service is good. I always go there for my holidays.
