We picked this site for its beautiful pool, only to find it had closed the week before. The pitches for motorhomes and caravans are hard-packed mud, so sitting outside was no fun. The facilities don't justify the high price: there was no toilet paper in the cubicles, and the showers were either scalding or cold. I wish we'd gone with our earlier choice at Vila Cha. It was much cheaper and had no pool either, but then this site's pool was closed anyway.

The pool was clean and very good, and the staff were helpful. For visiting Porto, the location is pretty convenient: a minibus stops right outside the campsite and takes you to the metro, then it's about 45 minutes in total to the city center. Two toilet, sink, and shower blocks are working, but the third one in sector 5 really needs renovating. Recommended!

The main problem was the groups of young people camping here without supervision. Even though quiet hours are 11pm to 7am, some came back from nights out between 3am and 5am and talked loudly as if it were daytime. If you need an undisturbed night, pick a pitch away from the path to their area. There were some good points: the pool, friendly and helpful staff, and fresh bread. The restaurant was adequate, though the only vegetarian choice was cheese pizza. Pitches were a bit scruffy but okay, and the toilets were cleaned regularly. They often ran out of toilet paper.

We stayed three nights and would happily come back. The bus stops outside the campsite and goes to the train station, where it's a short ride into Porto, about an hour altogether. The route through the narrow village streets was enjoyable, and the bus passes a couple of large supermarkets. One big caution for wet weather: don't use the lower-level RV spots. We saw several RVs struggling and being pushed through mud, even on flatter pitches. The RV service bay is down there too, so we skipped it. The road is narrow but fairly well paved, and getting a vehicle over 7m into or out of a spot can be tight. Those spaces can also get soggy, as they did during nearly our whole stay. The site is large, with multiple toilet and shower blocks and laundry areas, so the nearest one may be a bit of a walk. The facilities were clean and presentable, though I'd call them well kept rather than immaculate. Staff were friendly and helpful. Reception could be slow when only one person was there, especially with other staff chatting in the nearby security area, but that's a small gripe.
