The trail through the forest was gorgeous, and the children loved the ponies stopping for a drink at the waterfall and Jackary making a few snack stops. Juan and Joske worked so naturally together, making us all feel safe and at ease. The team were warm, patient, and clearly cared about the animals. They gave fantastic support from the moment we arrived, especially to our two little girls and one very nervous adult. We had a wonderful time pony trekking at Equitare Rural, and came away smiling with lovely memories. Highly recommended for families and first-time riders.

The best part was trekking through forests and villages down to a beautiful waterfall, just magic. My girls, who are 8 and 5, loved the horse and pony trek with Juan and Joske. They were both lovely with the kids and great company. Thanks for such a memorable day.

We had a spectacular dinner, and after dark the stars and nearly full moon looked gorgeous, with no light pollution and cooler night air. This warm, friendly family-run bed and breakfast in Coimbra, Portugal welcomes dogs. Our dog got to socialize with their beautiful horses and goats, who were very territorial 🤣. They offer riding classes and lovely trails too.

The location is beautiful, though quite remote, and the road up is narrow and winding. It worked well for us since we were heading into Lousa and Coimbra. We stayed in March with a friend, and the room was spotless, with a great shower and good heating. Andrea at the restaurant was lovely and really helpful, and the food was good.
