The food is excellent and the restaurant is very well located, which makes the poor management all the more of a shame. Service was very slow, with an hour between courses, and that made the experience less than ideal.

The restaurant served such good food that we ate there both nights. Our room was very comfortable and had a marvelous view of the Douro river. The staff were extremely welcoming and helpful, explaining the food and wines in depth and offering recommendations. This family-run hotel was a fantastic find, and must be the best place to stay in Miranda.

We had to leave very early, but a staff member came in early to make us coffee and serve breakfast. Everyone was very pleasant. The rooms were spotlessly clean and comfortable, with recently remodeled bathrooms, and some of the best views in town overlooking the Duero below. This is the place to stay in town!

My father and I seemed to be the only guests, which was fun in a slightly eerie way. The small crew were juggling several jobs and clearly hadn’t expected anyone to arrive, but they were all friendly and helpful, and we really enjoyed our stay. I was amazed by the low price, though it was completely off season. It’s a lovely hotel with an excellent restaurant, and our rooms looked out over a spectacular gorge.
