The owners are incredibly friendly and helpful, and pets are welcome here, which is a big plus. We could also spot plenty of animals around this rural farming area, including cows, horses, foxes, squirrels, rabbits, and hares. What made the stay special was the view across the valley at sunrise, and the sun disappearing behind the mountains in the evening. The accommodation has great facilities, including a kitchen, bathroom, fridge, TV, dishes, and cutlery. It’s a lovely spot for a quiet stay in an old village in Portugal’s interior, and you can also see some traditional summer village houses, including the cardanhas, in the small village of branda de Santo António. I’d absolutely recommend it.

We came near the end of the day, and saw how stunning the scenery was the next morning. The house and its setting feel magical. It was so quiet, with only the bells on the garranos grazing nearby breaking the silence. Warm and snug, it suited our winter holiday perfectly.

Tiago welcomed us so warmly and shared great ideas for exploring the area. The room was cosy, the view was superb, and we even got to try some sweets from the village. It’s a lovely place to get away from city life and enjoy the calm of the countryside. We’d come back!
