We had a car, so being a little way from the beach wasn't a problem. For food and drinks, we drove a few minutes to Santa Cruz town centre. The apartment was huge and had the usual amenities, and it was clean and peaceful. Felt worth it.
I stayed for five weeks while working a summer job. The rooms were clean and tidy, and the staff were really kind and helpful. Food was OK, and there was a large swimming room plus tennis, football, and basketball facilities. The town and beach were only a few minutes away. At night, though, cars on the nearby road could be quite loud if your room faced that way, which applied to about half the rooms. Earplugs were enough to deal with it.
For what it cost, this really wasn't worth it. Our room smelled bad, there was mold everywhere, and lots of things in the room were broken.
The food wasn't very good and was the same every time. The apartments were also pretty noisy, with sounds coming from both the street and the neighbors. The location was decent, about a 7-minute walk to the center of St. Cruz.
The staff were very kind, and the place was big, spacious, and clean. It's in a great location, with a short walk to the beach and facilities.
