Colina Verde Resort

We spent three days at this hotel as a family, paying 220€ per night for two adults and two kids. Stay away. They don't respect their customers. The place feels obsolete, and there's nothing nearby within walking distance, so a car is needed. It is definitely not a 4-star hotel. It felt like all they cared about was taking our money without providing service. Our room's air conditioning didn't work while temperatures were 39°C. When I asked to move, they said there were no other rooms and promised to fix the unit as soon as possible. I believe that was a lie: we could see several empty balconies and the pool area wasn't crowded. We later understood those rooms were more expensive and they didn't want to give us one. That night was a nightmare in the heat. The service team came the following afternoon, and we couldn't use the room for five hours while they replaced the unit. I asked for the manager, who said this was the best they could do. I asked for a partial refund because I hadn't paid for a room like that, and they assured me they'd arrange it. At checkout, the manager wasn't there. They gave me her email and said she'd handle it, but a month has passed with no refund and no reply to my email. Stay away.

We had spacious apartments and wonderful staff, and spent our time enjoying the lovely pool. The location was fantastic in October, peaceful but still close to the coast and shops. There's also a good tennis court, steam room and sauna. My husband used the gym, which is large compared with most hotel gyms. The golf course is closed for some restoration. It can look a little scruffy, but it's a fun little 9 hole course, especially for beginners, and very reasonably priced.

The room was excellent, and the pool, gym and tennis court were all fine. It's a quiet, pleasant place, but don't come for the golf. The course is closed, though the website didn't mention that, and the greens are wrecked with grass left to grow wild. It's a mess. You can play for free, but bring plenty of balls.

The gym was decent, and it's best to book if you want to use the tennis court. The sauna and turkey's bath weren't working while I was there. You'll definitely need to rent a car.
