Quinta da Murteira Moncarapacho

We stayed for a week, and basic supplies were missing from the rooms: no soap, toilet paper, or dishwashing liquid. There's no WiFi in the rooms, either. The owner was supposedly going to fix it, but a week or more passed before we left. You can only get in touch by phone if they answer, and messages get no response. There were ants, wasps, and mosquitoes in the rooms. I was almost glad to see spiders, though they weren't much help. The air conditioner seemed poorly maintained and made a horrible noise at night. Hot water was enough for one person, maybe two, so with three people one of us would have to go without washing. The boiler was also so loud when the hot water ran that it was hard to hear anything. The pool was clean and refreshing on a hot day, but not suitable for children. To take out the rubbish, you have to walk along the road to the neighboring hotel/restaurant, and walking anywhere from the hotel means using the road. On the plus side, a cute cat might come over begging for food. It eats everything you give it, like a black hole, and the ants get whatever it leaves. Better if the cat finishes it all, or you'll watch ants making frantic circles around the scraps while wasps join in. With kids constantly dropping crumbs, you can imagine the mess if there were lots of them.

Thank you for the lovely days. It's a calm place for anyone looking to get away from the stress of the city. Everything was clean, and they even left us biscuits, cheese, coffee, and water, along with soap, toilet paper, and dishwashing liquid.

The green spaces were well looked after, and the location felt secure and convenient. My bungalow, which was for three people, felt quite dated, especially the bathroom and kitchen. Air conditioning costs extra, and there isn't a washing machine. Cleaning and fresh towels only happen every 10 nights, which felt like a long stretch. There were also lots of mosquitoes at night, so bring repellent, spray, and plug-in protection, especially if you're travelling with children.

After paying 1019€, I cancelled because the accommodation wasn't what I expected. An employee treated me very badly, despite assuring me several times that I could cancel and would get a refund. I was shocked when no money came back. I feel I was deceived and cheated out of 1019€. As you can imagine, I'm not willing to lose that money, so I'm preparing to take legal action. This place doesn't even deserve one star, and I wouldn't recommend staying here to anyone.
