A lovely, peaceful place for a couple to spend a few days close to nature. It’s near Montalegre and Gerês, and the host was nice too.

It’s easy to get to and very well located. The houses are clean and welcoming, with great conditions for a few peaceful days, and they make you feel at home. There’s a stunning view over the dam, with historic villages to visit nearby and good food in the area.

We stayed as a family of two adults and two children, and we’d love to come again. The view was wonderful, the house was clean and in great condition, and we were welcomed so warmly. D. Carminda is such a lovely person. We really enjoyed our time at the Avelã Brava houses.

The location is excellent, right in the heart of the Alto Rabagao dam area, and you can go for a refreshing swim just behind the house. We’d suggest adding mosquito screens to the windows to keep insects out.
