Casa dos Avós no Grande Lago

We spent three fantastic days here and had nothing to complain about. The house was spotless, and the outdoor area had everything we needed to relax, especially the wonderful pool in that heat. Inside, it’s beautifully equipped, with a bathroom in every bedroom and a kitchen so well stocked it made you want to cook all day. When we arrived, D.Liliana was so friendly, showed us around, and offered to answer any questions. The hosts were great, and we’ll definitely return. Thank you!!!!

The peaceful atmosphere made this a place I’d definitely return to. On a recent trip to Alentejo, I got to see for myself how good the house is: it’s spacious, with a terrace that’s great for getting family or friends together. It was very clean, and Sra. Liliana was always willing to help. A kiss, and thanks for being so available 😊

I’d avoid this place, especially with so many other accommodations in the area. The owners were rude, and there’s a surveillance camera in the living room that they pretend is part of the alarm. The pool, really more of a tank, had cloudy water and dirt on the bottom. They came into the rented property saying they needed to replace something, and accused us of using too much detergent, which wasn’t true. They also spread claims that we were troublemakers. We were accused of leaving without putting water in the pool, though they could have asked the controlling cousin to do it. It’s not really a riverside village either, since the place isn’t even close to the water.

The house itself is attractive and in good condition, apart from an asbestos panel beside the pool. Still, after everything that happened, I wouldn’t set foot on these owners’ property again. They didn’t tell us pets weren’t allowed, and the camera presented as an alarm camera was apparently used to check what guests were doing. They were reluctant to provide a payment receipt and interrupted our stay for repairs they’d had time to do beforehand, especially since they said nobody had stayed there earlier. What bothers me most is how they accused guests of things that weren’t true, and were unfriendly and aggressive in their messages.
