The staff were friendly and professional, and the service and food were excellent. Everyone went out of their way to make sure things were in order. Thank you, I highly recommend it!

We went to Lua Cheia restaurant in Mourão for Monday dinner, expecting a lot because the hotel is so highly rated. It was embarrassing. There was just one waitress for around 20 customers, and we waited 30 minutes before she came over. Some of the starters we ordered weren’t available, and 50 minutes in, ours still hadn’t arrived. We ordered white wine and got red. The main dishes seemed fine when we ordered, but 20 minutes later they told us one wasn’t available after all, so my wife had to "feast" on bread and butter instead of having dinner. We ordered still water, too, and 30 minutes later it still hadn’t come. As I write this, we’re still waiting. I just feel like leaving. When we finally got the bill and paid, we noticed they’d charged us for the dish that never came. It’s strange that a fancy, famous place can keep going with service like this. I definitely won’t return, and I really recommend people stay away.

The hotel’s pool area overlooking the dam is spectacular, with breathtaking views. We also made good use of the free paddle court, and there’s a tennis and basketball court too. Guests can borrow bicycles to explore the large property along its trails. We spent three wonderful nights here, in a spacious, modern apartment with beautiful views of the dam. The hotel is magnificent, the nights were silent and peaceful, and all the staff were friendly, polite, and ready to help. Breakfast was nicely presented, with a range of continental items. We’ll certainly be back!

It rained the whole time we were here to watch the stars, but the stay was absolutely worth it. At the restaurant, our server helped us practice our basic Portuguese, made sure we got the wine and food we wanted, and created a wonderful atmosphere. The service was more splendid than the Milky Way. The spa is small and gorgeous, with a beautiful view. This is a spectacular spot if you want to get away from the beaten path, see the beauty of Alentejo, and enjoy a quiet respite in one of the most interesting areas of the Iberian peninsula.
