We paid for a decent night’s stay, but couldn’t sleep in the bedroom because of lingering fumes from toxic mothballs used in the immediate sleeping area. Once we found them, we moved them outside the suite, but we were still exposed to the fumes, which caused concerning health reactions. Home Sweet Praia would otherwise be beautiful, and it’s upsetting that management made such a poor decision to use this product in a guest area. They offered a simple apology, but when we politely asked them to accept any further responsibility for this dangerous issue, they went silent. It’s very concerning that they seem to think using such a toxic, obnoxious substance is okay, and they have made no further acknowledgement. We’ve been patient and polite, but to no avail. This should have been an amazing spot, and instead our stay was marred by this.

Just a few meters from the beach and seafront, the location is central and convenient. Inside, it was clean, tastefully furnished, and had a fully equipped kitchen. Perfect in every way!!! A sure bet for a wonderful vacation.

Ema, the landlady, was very friendly and helpful. The spacious apartment was very well equipped and clean. It’s beautifully furnished, right by the beach promenade, but still very quiet.
