Sara, the owner, is really nice and friendly. This is a guesthouse, not a hotel: a big house with guest rooms and a shared living room and kitchen. The room was very large and opened onto the garden around the house. The place has unusual old-style things that some guests might like. There were some practical problems. The room was cold because the heating wasn't good, the shower pressure was weak and the water wasn't hot enough, and the TV reception was poor. Check-in is self-service. We got instructions, then had to retrieve the key from a safe and figure out the entrance in the dark by phone flashlight. It felt like solving an escape room puzzle. Breakfast was served individually at the table rather than buffet-style. The pastries were fresh and good, but the coffee was awful.

We had a late flight, and since availability allowed it, we could check out late. The rooms were cosy, and breakfast was really nice. Host Sara was extremely friendly and helpful throughout our stay. It was simply amazing.

We could easily reach the village parade in about five minutes by car, then head back to the quiet of Quinta Amarela. It's in a peaceful area, and the whole guesthouse was spotless, which made our stay comfortable. Breakfast was one of the best parts, with fresh, delicious food and lots of choices every morning. Quinta Amarela in Nazaré felt like a perfect retreat from the daily bustle. I loved our stay there and can't recommend it highly enough.
