Casa de Campo da Quinta da Pegada

The only problem during our stay was the air conditioning unit leaking. It soaked my suitcase and personal things before I noticed, absolutely drenched them. The owner was very apologetic and offered us another room for the rest of the stay at no extra cost. He and his sister were lovely, so I almost feel bad taking off a star. Everything else was wonderful. The hotel was serene even though the historic town centre, full of activity, was only a ten minute walk away. The location was perfect, the amenities were great, and our room was lovely. It was immaculate and beautiful after the recent renovation, and the owner went out of his way to make our stay a good one. I loved it enough to tell anyone who'll listen about the hotel, the owners and the town. I plan to return soon. I'll come back and add photos.

Our hotel was cancelled for no reason, and we found this place at 7:30 at night. The front desk was still open, and an actual person answered when I called. We loved staying here. It felt like the castle we'd seen that morning, and I felt like a princess in a historic castle. There's a farm right beside it, and even the plants are real! :)

Francisco is a real professional host, and they even gave us breakfast for free though it wasn't part of our booking. It's an old farmhouse with farm animals there now. Our room was clean and comfortable, and the location just outside the village was perfect. Highly recommended.
