The room had a stale, slightly musty smell, and there was a bit too much stuff in it. I also couldn't find the WiFi. On the plus side, the welcome was pleasant, the place was clean and quiet, and breakfast was good. The location worked well, and free parking was a bonus.

We really liked how peaceful the place was, especially the sunset by the pool on a clear day. The room was its own townhouse-style apartment, with a walk-in closet, dresser and mirror, and TV. We had requested a double bed but got two single beds instead; they were queen-sized and very comfortable. The bathroom is small, though it has everything you need. Pegada Real is about a ten-minute walk from Óbidos. The young woman with glasses who greeted us was so kind and gave us plenty of ideas for what to do and where to go with our limited time. Breakfast was a little different from what we've had elsewhere, but very good: cold cuts and cheese, bread, pastries, jam, and fresh-squeezed juice were already on the table, while tea, coffee, and milk were brought to us. A great pick for a quiet holiday!

We only stayed one night, and it was hard to leave this peaceful little haven. Anabela was so welcoming, shared useful tips for seeing Óbidos, and offered us the famous local cherry liqueur. The room was roomy and spotless, and breakfast was excellent, with brioche, bread, butter, jam, and cured meats. There’s also a small pool to unwind by at the end of the day. The castle walls are very close, less than a ten-minute walk away.
