The rooftop terrace was a highlight, with lovely views over town, a kitchen to prepare your own meal, and even a BBQ. We could picture picking up fresh King prawns at the market and cooking them up there. Our room, number 15, was spacious and had plenty of natural light from the balcony/window. There was a small shower and basin in the room, while the toilet was in the corridor. The old-town location is a real gem, and the place felt like home. We liked it enough to add an extra night. The owners and staff were friendly, and it was very good value. Just be aware the stairs are quite steep, so it may not suit anyone with limited mobility. Thank you, Pensào Bicuar. Rachel was so friendly and accommodating, even letting us bring our dusty bicycles into the first-floor hall. We had a great night at Bicuar. It's beautiful, the location is unbeatable, and the rooftop terrace is incredible. Thanks for everything!

I booked four nights after reading good reviews, but left after just one. The noise outside was awful, with people at a nearby cafe sitting out until 1 a.m. Then at 2:40 a.m. I was woken by a couple complaining about the noise and saying they couldn't sleep. I can understand why, and it seems like this may happen regularly here. The room was extremely basic, with no wardrobe, just hangers on a coat rack, and a ceiling fan that only had one slow setting. I couldn't get out quickly enough. Thankfully I found a fantastic place after this one. Avoid it if you want decent accommodation and can't sleep through what feels like an earthquake.

I booked through Airbnb, but I'm reviewing here because I left it too late and Airbnb no longer lets me post one. The hosts were great, and the rooftop views are amazing. The shared toilets in the hallway were always really clean, and having a sink and shower in our room was nice. The place feels traditional and fairly cozy, so don't expect anything super modern. That adds to the old-town charm. Even at the end of July, the ceiling fan kept the room cool enough.

We just couldn't get a proper night's sleep because we could hear people using the toilet all night. The rooftop view was stunning, and the staff were nice and helpful.
