We had a pleasant, uneventful stay from 29/9-1/10/25. There were three of us, all middle-aged, and we booked the day before. Sonia checked us in at 4, cheerful and friendly, handed us a “ticket” she said we must not lose, and showed us apartment 5. It was large, bright, and clean. We ate dinner and breakfast in both days, and appreciated the space and the short walk to the beach and amenities. The sea was visible to the right from the living room window, and the upper apartment seems to have a nice balcony with good views. The main room had a dining table, a large smart TV, two sofa beds, and a window facing the main road and a large empty lot. The welcome booklet had useful local information, and WiFi was quite fast. The apartment was non-smoking. The bedroom had a proper double bed, fitted cupboards, a chest of drawers, plenty of hangers, and new AC, which we didn't use. There were bedside tables, but sockets only on the window side. Its small enclosed “balcony” had three UPVC chairs, a drying rack, broom, dustpan, and mop, with closeable windows overlooking the road. The kitchen had plenty of equipment, including three sets of cutlery, crockery, and glassware, pots and pans, sieves, a lemon squeezer, chopping board, serving utensils, and cutting knives. It also had a new kettle, a simple microwave, coffee maker with a rinseable filter, blender, toaster, clean fridge, and an old-school double electric hob. No oven. The sink window looked onto the road and handy recycling and residual bins. Under the sink were a plastic drainer, washing-up liquid, nylon sponge, and clean tea towels. There wasn't much counter space or proper overhead lighting for cooking, and the tap dripped and needs fixing. The toilet had a bidet with plug and brush, a small sign asking guests not to put paper down the toilet, and a sink with no plug. There was complimentary shower gel, soap, three toilet rolls, and a good shower with soft water. We slept very well both nights, though there was a noisy motorbike. The quiet hours were 23:00-08:00. The recycling bins opposite were used occasionally and weren't noisy. The main door did slam now and then. The apartment had fire sensors, sprinklers, and a fire blanket in the kitchen. The fire exit was by the entry door, with the main exit through the front entrance lobby. The morning sun warms the apartment, so we used the shutters to keep it cool. Melissa was friendly when she checked the TV and remote at checkout, which was by 10:30. The view of the recycling bins, which are everywhere and necessary, may not suit everyone, and the small “balcony” was being used to store the cleaner's equipment, so it wasn't romantic if that's what you want. That wasn't the owner's fault, and everything worked. The main door could use a soft closer, and the kitchen tap still needs fixing.

The roof terrace was the highlight for me. It stretches across the width of the house from east to west, has stunning views, and gets useful shade at midday from the neighboring house's gable. The location is convenient too, just a few hundred metres from both the beach and town center, with beautiful river and sea views. The rooms are spacious and bright, with lots of windows, which felt unusual for Portugal. The flat has a double bedroom, an open kitchen and living room with dining area, a sofa bed, and terrace access from both the living area and hallway. The bathroom seems to have been renovated at some point. But there's no heating in the living room or bathroom, and no power outlet for a hairdryer or razor. The bedroom radiator was enough to warm that room, but even with December temperatures a mild 16 to 18 degrees Celsius, the humid climate made heating feel essential, at least to help prevent mould. I wouldn't rent the flat outside summer. The kitchen works for breakfast or small meals, but it has no oven or grill, just two well-used electric hotplates, so it's not ideal if you want to be fully self-sufficient. The wide terrace and views are lovely, but the lack of heat is a real limitation.

The host was really nice and helpful, and the studio felt super cozy with everything I needed. I loved it and wish I could've stayed longer!

We stayed for five days and four nights. The location was the one good thing: close to the beach and village center, though there are plenty of other options nearby, so that alone wasn't enough for us. I wouldn't repeat the stay or recommend it. We had been told towels would be changed daily, but no one came to the apartment once in five days to change even the bath towels. The apartment was quite dated and looked worse than the photos. The toilet cistern was broken and kept running, so we had to keep closing the tap. The small fridge had a broken freezer drawer that didn't work. The listing said the one-bedroom apartment had a balcony, but in our view it was only a bedroom window, as shown in the uploaded photo. On arrival, we were asked to pay the remaining balance in cash. Card payment wasn't possible, and there had been no warning. We weren't given a receipt when we paid. Reception was almost always unattended. We only saw the receptionist on the first day. On checkout, which was by 10h, there was nobody at reception and nobody answered the phone, so we had to leave the key on the apartment counter. I'd never seen accommodation with such an early checkout. We also emailed on arrival day, 21/08, to request an invoice with our tax number, as the receptionist told us to do, but have yet to receive any reply. Thanks.
