Real Marina Hotel & Spa

We arrived around midnight after a late flight and stayed just one night. The location was a big plus, less than a 10-minute Uber ride from the airport, and reception is open 24 hours. The reception staff were very friendly and explained everything clearly. The room was huge, with a really comfortable bed, excellent bedding and different pillow options. My husband and I travel a lot and have slept worse in much pricier hotels, but here the mattress and bedding suited us perfectly. I personally didn't like the bathroom fixtures much. They were a little confusing to use, and at one point the water suddenly got extremely hot, slightly burning my hands. That's my only real negative. My husband used the spa and said it was nice. He also tried the gym, which he said was large and well equipped, though I didn't have time to use it. Breakfast was surprisingly extensive and very good. I especially loved the Nespresso machine for making your own coffee, a 10/10 for me. They also prepare things like poached eggs fresh on request, a great touch. It's hard to judge every aspect from just one night, but for the excellent price we paid, it was definitely worth it. I'd absolutely recommend it based on our experience.

The hotel is by the water, though not on the beach, and it's convenient for getting to everything. Free guest parking is a real plus, and the rooms and staff were nice. The indoor pool requires a water cap. We didn't have one, so our kiddo was disappointed.

We came for our 30th wedding anniversary, and the hotel made it feel special with complimentary bubbly and treats. It was a lovely gesture and much appreciated. This was our second stay, and it was even better than the first. The staff throughout the hotel are lovely and very professional, the pool area is clean, and my spa treatment was excellent. Breakfast was very good too, constantly refreshed, spotless, good quality, and with a good selection. I'd highly recommend the place, and would give it six stars if I could.

This review is long overdue, but even two months later, our stay at the Real Marina Apartments is still so memorable. We planned on four weeks and ended up extending to seven. The staff were superb, and their service made the whole stay a joy. Special thanks to the people we interacted with most: Elena (Housekeeping), L U, Silvano, Firmo Toledo, and Jorge Pires. Please forgive us if we've misspelled any names. We're already looking forward to returning next January and hope the service stays just as top-notch.
