The house is comfortable, with a great bed, clean cosy linens, a beautiful pool, and friendly pets. It also feels wonderfully peaceful, and the hosts are fabulous. Gina has a real love for the area, its history, and its people. You can see that in how carefully the house and rentals were reconstructed, the background she shares through walking and site suggestions, and her connections with the neighbours and local restaurant owners. It's exactly the kind of Airbnb experience you're hoping for, with local character and comfort in a setting that feels right for this place. I'd want to come back.

There are plenty of ways to spend time here: take a local hike, lounge by the pool, admire the horses, or paddle in the river. You can also enjoy a morning coffee on the terrace or eat outside while watching the sunset. Quinta da Ardanela sits in a beautiful valley, a lovely rural escape for peace, nature, and a proper rest. The well-equipped properties have what you need, including very comfy beds and good towels and bedding. Gina and Clive are fantastic hosts. Highly recommended :)

The beautiful surroundings and relaxing atmosphere made us feel at home straight away. We were treated to extraordinary hospitality, including invitations to local lunches and dinners. Gina, Clive, and their lovely animals were all wonderful hosts.

Gina’s house has stunning views and works so well for a family stay. Its natural setting is perfect for outdoor activities, but also for taking it easy and enjoying the scenery. You can take in the views from indoors, where all the home essentials work well, including the kitchen, great shower, and reliable wifi. The swimming pool sits beautifully in the landscape by the river, and the cleanliness is to a high standard. Highly recommended.

I’ve come back to stay with Gina and Clive several times this past year while looking for land to buy. Having breakfast on the veranda each morning, with Quinta da Adarnela all around, is breathtaking. They’re wonderful hosts, and I’ve had everything I needed, from Wi-Fi for work to the pool just 10m from the door. I’ve also taken my mountain bike out on the country tracks for many kilometres and walked through the forest to the Roman bridge. A great place for couples or families, and one I’d happily recommend.
