The White House - B&B in the Villa

We had the most perfect 6 nights and hope to come back one day. Rob and Peter were so accommodating, checking in with every guest daily to make sure they were having a good time, and giving us brilliant recommendations for things to see and do in Algarve and places to eat. The villa is stunning and unusual, with just a few rooms, so the stay feels personal. Each morning brought an incredible, distinctive breakfast, mostly made with fresh local ingredients. It’s a hidden gem in Algarve, a short drive from Faro and well placed for reaching other sightseeing destinations.

The spacious rooms and comfortable shared spaces make it easy to read or relax, indoors or by the pool. Rob and Peter are lovely hosts, attentive and helpful. Highly recommended!

We stayed for 3 nights, and the shared guest area was spacious, with a central table holding brochures and reading material for exploring nearby places such as Olhão, about a 10-15 minute drive away. Rob and Peter were helpful with local dining and leisure suggestions. There’s an honor bar beside the sitting room where guests serve themselves and register drinks, plus a small fridge. The themed home has rooms named after former residents of The White House (DC, USA), and combines private bedrooms with shared guest space. Our ELEANOR (Roosevelt) room was up a few flights of stairs, clean and no frills. The bed was comfortable, neither firm nor soft, and the air conditioner worked well. There was a Nespresso machine with pods, but no TV or small fridge. Internet was average in our room and the signal fluctuated. The bathroom had no bath mat and could use a variable dual-voltage shaving point. In keeping with the theme, there was a book by Elenor R with tips on living well. Breakfast ran from 8-10, with choices that changed day to day. No full English was served, though eggs were available, and there was no fresh juice. There were breads, cheese, deli meats, sometimes homemade cake, and good coffee. The pool was a good size, at 25-26 C in midsummer, with a shaded area and 4 loungers. Pets aren’t permitted, though local cats might wander inside or onto the terrace. Some sites list this as a 3-star hotel, while others give it 4 stars. At around 130-140 eu a night, we felt it was on the high side. I reacted to some allergen, so we didn’t use the communal areas apart from the pool. Local dogs can bark, so we’d suggest closing the windows and turning on the air-con. Thanks for your hospitality!
