Adelaide Hotel

Nine of us stayed for five days on a mountain biking trip, and the hotel was brilliant. The rooms were superb and very clean, and everyone was so friendly. I can’t rate it highly enough.

We ordered seafood rice to take away on August 12, after this place next door came highly recommended. It was awful: basically a large pot of rice with two packs of imitation crab. We picked out the “crab” hoping the rice might still be edible, but it wasn’t. We brought it back to the hotel and explained what happened. The staff offered no fix or compensation and barely apologized. They said they’d tell the chef we hadn’t enjoyed it. Since we’d already paid, it felt like our complaint made no difference. If we’d been served that dish at the restaurant, we would have refused to pay, and rightly so. This isn’t traditional Portuguese food. It’s a tourist trap, so stay away.

The balcony had a lovely view, and the room was a good size. The restaurant was decent as well, with breakfast, lunch and dinner. It’s a nice place to stay in the national park and the price was very reasonable. My only issue was the air conditioning didn’t work. I didn’t ask the staff about it, since I was only there one night, and opening the balcony door cooled the room enough. I’d highly recommend this hotel.

Really good breakfast. The room stayed dark at night, which was great for sleeping, and everything was super clean.
