Cantinho do Sossego

Very clean and good for the price, with really nice hosts. Just plan your food before you arrive if you're staying here on the Camino. We were there on a Sunday, when all the cafés and restaurants were closed. The nearest grocery store was a half-hour walk away, and there was no shop along the route for about 2.5 hours. If you get up later, there’s a café near the Camino an hour away, but it opens at 8.

The views were amazing, and the place was newly refurbished and very clean. The hosts were some of the kindest people I’ve ever met, so helpful and welcoming. It had everything we needed for a stop on the Camino, including a coffee machine and basics like coffee, tea, cookies and spices. They even left fresh oranges from the garden, which were delicious. Highly recommend it, especially for anyone doing the camino de Santiago.

A big surprise on our Camino tour in Gondarém. The room was new, nicely designed and very clean, with its own bathroom and kitchen, all at a reasonable price. WiFi, towels, bathroom accessories, tea, a coffee machine, microwave and kettle were included. The owner also offered a free ride to a large supermarket where we could buy everything.

We stopped here for one night while hiking towards Santiago and had a great experience. The hosts were so friendly and helpful, and the views were beautiful. If we’re in the area again, we’ll definitely come back.
