The kitchen in the apartment had everything we needed to cook a full meal, from an oven and microwave to a toaster, coffee maker, and good pots and utensils. The towels and bed linen were excellent, and even the bathroom had a laundry basket. You can tell they thought through the room design too, right down to light switches on both sides of the bed. It felt like arriving at your grandmother’s house, with every corner clean and every detail cared for. There’s no hotel feel here, just a warm welcome and the comfort of home. We’ll definitely come back, because Gerês is beautiful, and I wish I could find a place like this wherever I travel. Thank you, Manuel and his wife. See you soon. Two years later, we came back to Gerês and didn’t even think about staying anywhere else. Our first visit had been so lovely, and the return was even better ✨. We had the upstairs T1 apartment, with its lovely terrace and great view. Having breakfast outside while listening to the birds was a highlight. We were there over Easter, and on the Sunday we were leaving, Luisa and Manuel kindly invited us to share delicious homemade food and drinks. We also joined them and their daughter for a local tradition, meeting neighbors as they visited from the church. We can’t wait for our next trip to Gerês, and of course we’ll stay with them again.
