One small tip: it may be best to look up hiking trails yourself. The reception staff were kind and helpful, but they admitted they hadn’t tried the trails, and their suggestions didn’t match reality very well. The resort is surrounded by beautiful nature and is very well cared for. Our apartment was stylish, spacious, had a comfy bed and the best balcony view. It was far better than we expected.

We had a family room with bunk beds, a nice balcony and a quiet location with parking. The room itself was pleasant, but for a stay of several days there was nowhere to put clothes, toiletries or other small things. There was no fridge, shelves, hangers or tables. Fortunately, we could keep our food in the fridge in the shared reception area and use the kitchen for breakfast.

The resort is just softly opening, and I’m curious to see how it looks a year from now. Ikigai Resort feels like it’s becoming something beautiful, from the staff and rooms to the location. Having access to the river through the resort facilities is a huge bonus. This is where I’d want to stay to find “your reason to be”.

The morning yoga with Patricia was my favorite part. She’s a great teacher and a lovely person. I booked a tent, which was clean and perfectly fine, with air conditioning and heating. The hotel has great vibes, a nice pool and a brilliant lakeside location with direct access to the lake. Breakfast and dinner were good too. I definitely want to go back.

We had a great time over our two-night stay and will definitely come back. The hostel is in a perfect spot for exploring Geres national park, with a swimming pool and a private lake. The staff were friendly and gave us useful hiking trail recommendations. Felipe helped with everything we needed and even lent us some of his own cooking supplies. There was a good breakfast with lots of choices.
