Casa do Rio

It's a small but welcoming house with everything needed for a good holiday. We only managed to stay one night, unfortunately, but loved it. The whole house is nicely decorated, the bedrooms have air conditioning, and the kitchen is well equipped. Just bear in mind that it has two floors, so the stairs may be difficult for people with limited mobility or small children.

The river sounds and scenery made this a lovely place to slow down and breathe. It’s a two-bedroom little house right by the water, with the feel of a traditional cottage but modern comforts and everything equipped. Breakfast comes with delicious baker’s bread in a cloth bag. Definitely recommend it, and I’d likely come back.

The baker leaves the breakfast rolls in a little bag hanging by the door, the old-fashioned way. The cottage is a bit outside central Penacova, but it was fully equipped and really exceeded our expectations. The facilities felt brand new and were very well looked after by Ana and her mother. It’s wonderfully quiet there.
