Quinta das Latas

I stayed here for a yoga retreat, and despite the beautiful location and stunning villa photos, several things need attention. We rented it in early March, when it was cold, but the heating was inadequate. Guests need enough heat and spare bedding or extra blankets at that time of year. The oven doors wouldn’t stay shut, so we had to prop them with a chair, and the dishwasher broke. For 23 guests staying a week, there were only two grubby tea towels and no hand towels. Jessy was extremely rude when we raised problems, and I didn’t feel she made any effort to keep guests comfortable. I wouldn’t recommend the property unless these issues, including the lack of genuine hospitality, are addressed.

I went on a yoga retreat here in May and thought the house was a perfect setting. The heating was on throughout, and we used the fire to keep the living room cosy in the evenings. It got a little chilly after sunset, but the lack of heating mentioned in other reviews wasn’t an issue for me. We met the host on the last night when she came by to see if we’d enjoyed our stay, and she was very friendly. It was a great stay, and I’d recommend it.

The quiet setting made it feel like we’d stepped away from the world. I stayed here during a yoga retreat led by Opensouls, and the place was honestly beautiful. The rooms felt welcoming and were decorated so nicely, and both the facilities and the pool were lovely. I can’t find a single thing to fault. Wow, what a magical place!

Jessy helped make those seven days even better, with local trip suggestions and all the contacts we needed, from bakery deliveries and activities to Coimbra restaurants and taxi services. Our guests couldn’t have been happier. The setting was stunning and gave our retreat a beautiful base for the magic to unfold. Thank you for helping us make memories that’ll last a lifetime.
