Casa Valxisto Country House

We spent four lovely days here and were so glad we chose it. Breakfast was an amazing spread brought right to the table, and the optional dinner was a delicious four-course meal. The kind staff made us feel completely welcome and went out of their way to make sure everything was right, including preparing delicious vegetarian food for me. The pool area is fabulous, and you can stroll around the vineyard and small farm on the grounds. It feels properly rural, even though Porto airport is only around a 35-minute drive away. We’d absolutely come back 😌

The farm and surroundings are beautiful, and there are great hikes nearby. It’s also very close to Porto. We stayed two nights in the ensuite room, which had lovely design details, a bathtub, a chimney, and an amazing view. Service was very friendly. The restaurant food and breakfast could be more elevated. We’ll be back! The massage was a top-notch experience, though I don’t know the therapist’s name. 100% recommend it.

The restaurant deserves a mention: the food was fresh, beautifully cooked, and absolutely delicious. The property is so well cared for, with lovely grounds and happy farm animals. Ana made us feel at home as soon as we arrived. She’s warm, kind, thoughtful, and incredibly hardworking, always available when you need help while still giving you room for a private vacation. We visited in October 2019 and had an absolutely perfect stay. We look forward to returning and recommend the hotel to anyone after a peaceful break in a beautiful location with exceptional service.

The team here were incredible, always going above and beyond to help with any question or issue and make sure we had a great break. Breakfast was exceptional, handmade, fresh, plentiful, and with so much grown on the farm. We enjoyed the evening meal too. After a busy, hectic city break, the pool and that view were just the place to relax and recharge. This place is an utter haven. We loved our stay and can’t recommend it enough. Thanks to everyone!
