Best Houses 08 - Surf House in Baleal

My brother and I came from New Zealand and had a great time. Luis was a relaxed, friendly guy who made us feel welcome. The rooms were basic, just what we wanted, and the facilities were nice. You can walk to the surf breaks, and I’d definitely stay here again. 🤙

I’ve never stayed in a surf hostel that felt this authentic. There’s a solid choice of boards to rent right at the house, and the beach is very close. The host was the best I’ve come across, with loads of knowledge about surfing and places to eat. If you’re hoping to get better at surfing, Peniche is a great place to do it.

We had a great four full days here. The house was clean, and we could use the free skateboards. Luis, the owner, was really kind and even put on a BBQ for everyone staying there. The location worked well, with nice restaurants nearby. I’d definitely recommend it, especially for groups.

There’s a great outdoor spot to hang out together, plus a nice kitchen and three bathrooms. We spent a week here with a big group of friends, and Luis welcomed us warmly. He’s very available and you can tell how much he loves surfing. We had an amazing time. Thanks so much, Luis, and see you soon!
