The staff and service were amazing, and breakfast was wonderful. Free bikes were a nice perk for exploring the island, and the location is fairly central. If I were rating it as a brunch spot alone, I'd give it five stars. What let the stay down was the room and the sleep, which matter most to me in a hotel. The mattress felt like an old coil spring one and was very uncomfortable. Its plastic cover made it even worse, all crinkly. There was a strip of wood right through the bathroom mirror, so I couldn't see my whole face while getting ready. Even with the shower turned all the way hot, the water was only lukewarm. Maybe someone in another room had showered just before me, but after a day travelling that's not what you want. Our room was below street level, and it was quite noisy. The room was very affordable, so maybe ours was one of the more dated ones and other rooms are better. The decor, vibe and cleanliness were all great. Replace the mattresses and fix the hot water and I'd give it five stars for sure.

The kindest people you could hope to meet. The staff were wonderful and always ready to help or offer advice. Rooms were clean and comfortable, with an efficient shower. Breakfast was amazing, fresh every morning and available all day. The beaches are nearby, and it's a short walk to the town centre and harbour. Good value, too.

The staff were incredibly welcoming and even helped make things work for our toddler by providing an extra bed. Breakfast was excellent, and we loved the little outdoor lounge space. The exterior feels authentic, while inside it's modern.

This B&B was our favourite place to stay during our whole trip to Portugal. It has a really cool style, and you can tell someone put a lot of love and work into it. The staff were super friendly, the rooms clean and comfortable, and breakfast was awesome. They even bake a cake every morning, so the place smells really nice. It's about a 15-minute walk to the city centre and 5-10 minutes to the beach. Bikes are available at no extra charge, but sadly there wasn't a kids' bike. Our 8-year-old couldn't fit on the adult bikes, so we couldn't use them.
