ST Apart 14 in Peniche

Apartment 12, in case that helps anyone. The photos really don’t show what it’s like: no air conditioning, no windows and no blinds. It felt like a furnished garage, with a floor they hadn’t even bothered to fix. Paying €100 a night for it seems outrageous. We had a terrible night. The double bed mattress had springs you could feel, and the living room sofa bed was paper thin. Cleanliness was poor too: dirt on the floor, food scraps in the kitchen sink and hair from previous guests all over the bathroom floor. I don’t usually write reviews like this, but the place was unbelievable.

A big thank you to Daniela, the apartment owner, for being so attentive and understanding. We were traveling with our 2-year-old and stayed in apartment 12, which was close to everything in Peniche. The rooms were comfortable, and the sheets were so soft for the baby. We’ll definitely come back!

We managed to check in before 2:00 PM, something we couldn’t do anywhere else in Portugal. It’s easy to reach, and the service is really friendly. The apartment does feel a little cramped, though. A bigger bathroom would be nice, and there’s not much room for the extra bed in the living room.

We liked it so much last year that we came back. The place was clean, practical, welcoming, and really well equipped for a week. The staff were incredibly helpful too. We brought our dog, and when we asked, they quickly brought us a broom and dustpan for her fur.
