We celebrated our wedding anniversary here with a big party, and the lodge crew handled the coordination and communication really well. Everyone was kind and ready to help, and the food and drinks were very good. We also enjoyed our two nights in a suite. We’d recommend the lodge for a stay or an anniversary celebration. The lodge isn’t right beside the surf, but Baleal town and the beaches are an easy 10-minute walk away. It’s a pleasant route, with places to look around on the way, and the distance makes things a bit more relaxed. During my six-night surf and work trip, I found the rooms modern, cosy, clean and nicely styled, with old photos of classic surf moments on the walls. The dining room has a cool look and a log fire for colder months. You can borrow skateboards and bikes, and there’s downstairs space for surfboards and wetsuits. The staff were warm, welcoming and proactive, even helping me book restaurants in Porto. The meals were excellent, especially the extra-tasty dish the chef made for me on my last night. Best surf lodge in the area, and I’d happily stay again if I return.

The restaurant was wonderful, and I’d recommend going for a meal even if you’re not staying at the hotel. I had a lovely two-night stay too. It was peaceful and had a great atmosphere. Best wishes to the chef!
