I liked the simple approach here, and the effort to be eco-friendly shows in the pallet and recycled-material furniture and beds. The rooms were clean and basic, with an outdoor area and an upstairs balcony lounge. There’s a fully working kitchen, and a BBQ on the terrace. Some facilities were too basic or broken, including the downstairs shower head, but I still appreciated the simplicity. The location is handy for Peniche, with bars and restaurants close by. A car is probably useful for reaching the beaches, and nearby parking was easy to find in the off-season.

Seven months after booking for four, we’ve been told less than a month before our August trip that the room is unavailable and the hotel has no room for four people. They made no effort to fix it, just sent a message. Now we have to find somewhere else at the last minute, when prices are incredibly high. We’ll contact Booking.com to see if they can help.
