Villas Barrocal

The rooms were neat and tidy, but our two day stay ended with a break-in. After my four friends and I arrived, freshened up and went to bed around 4 in the morning, we woke the next day to find our bags and belongings scattered around the room and across the building premises. My watch and earphones were gone, and one of my friend’s belongings was missing too. The same thing happened to two other guys staying there. They lost about 100 euros and a bunch of clothes. We checked out feeling awful, knowing we’d probably never get our valuables back. The safety you’re promised here felt like nil or zero to us, so keep this in mind if you’re thinking of booking a room.

A lovely, quiet place with a good pool and views towards the sea, which is a 12 minutes drive away. It’s well placed for exploring the Algarve.

The staff gave great service and let us drop off our bags early while we were travelling. Our room was clean, well accommodated and had AC in each room. The pool was well kept, and the onsite bar was nice. It’s a cute little town near Lidl and restaurants. The price was right. 5 stars!

The complex is lovely, with a great pool and pool bar area. The staff are wonderful and can’t do enough to help. We came to relax with the kids, and it’s been lovely. The games room and park are a bit underwhelming, though. The “park” is just a single swing and climbing set, not a proper park. I’d bring your own ping pong paddles and balls for the games room, since you have to pay for the balls and bats, and they’re not cheap. There isn’t a lot to do in Pera without a car.
