The location didn't feel very walkable to me, so driving around seems like the better option. There's plenty of good parking. I also wasn't offered the Port wine that other reviewers mentioned. There are cats on the property too. I love cats and petted one, but people with allergies or rhinitis may have a hard time. The room and bathroom were spacious, with a handy little balcony, and the shower was relaxing and very good, though in the cold season it took a while to get hot water. The Douro river views are fantastic. Breakfast had local cheeses, different breads, good coffee, and juices, but no hot food or eggs. A good B&B option in Peso da Régua, and I'd recommend it despite those service-related reservations.

I only spent one night at Casa de São Domingos, but it was an excellent stay. The room was clean and quaint, and the owner was very kind. Breakfast was a delicious buffet with fresh juices, and the hotel shared a great list of things to do nearby. Highly recommend.

We were welcomed with Porto wine, and the rooms were spacious. The breakfast was yummy, and the garden is beautiful with lovely details everywhere. There's a pool, a bit cold but refreshing on a hot day, as well as a hot tub. Amazing hotel, highly recommended.

Our two-night holiday-season stay was booked while we were traveling from another country, but a flight cancellation beyond our control meant we couldn't reach the destination. We were already outside the cancellation window, and we understand that policies apply. Still, we were surprised and disappointed that there was no flexibility or alternative offered, given that this wasn't simply a change of plans but an inability to arrive. Travel disruptions happen, especially over the holidays, and the response left us feeling there was little empathy or effort to help. It gave us a very negative impression. Be cautious when booking with them.

The views, location, and staff were excellent, and it was good value. Our balcony room suited us well and had plenty of space. We think the hotel has the best views from 5a. The self-service fridge bar by the pool is a great idea, and breakfast was superb and fresh. There's no lunch, so we went into town for dinner and had a good walk back.
