It’s a large, modern three-bedroom house, clean and well cared for, with room for 6-8 people. The kitchen has an oven and dishwasher and is fully equipped. We also found a washing machine and drying racks in the storage room beside the kitchen, although the website description didn’t mention them. Lidl and a local market are nearby. The market is a good place to buy dried figs, which cost twice as much in Porto. We had trouble with the codes from check-in when trying both the driveway gate and the pedestrian gate. It was late, and we worried we might have to make ourselves agreeable with the departed across the street. Thankfully, a call to the live service centre sorted it out.

❌ Serious security failure and awful management ❌ I had a confirmed, paid reservation for Oliveira Douro House (MyStay Peso da Régua) APT 4. When I arrived, other guests were already staying in the apartment. Worse, the codes issued by MyStay could open the other apartments too. The guests from APT 3 were in my apartment, APT 4, which showed this was possible. I contacted support. Their only offer was for me to stay in APT 3, which was lower quality and had no kitchen, so I couldn’t follow through on my plans for that evening. After a long trip and with no other option, I had to leave without a solution or fair compensation. The company admitted its mistake and refunded what I paid, but that doesn’t make up for the emotional distress or the extra costs, and it doesn’t erase being put in an unsafe, unacceptable situation. There’s also no proof or assurance that the problem will be fixed, so future guests could face the same risk. If you want safe, professional accommodation, avoid this company!

I loved it, highly recommend! Our one-bedroom apartment was spacious, clean, and really pleasant. The kitchen was fully equipped, with utensils in great shape and an oven, which is handy for a quick meal. There was a TV in the living room and a sofa bed, perfect for getting comfortable with a film at the end of the day. As a kind welcome, we found two little cakes, two coffee capsules, and a bottle of water in the fridge. Even with online check-in, I felt very welcome. Having a garage for guests was another real plus, since we didn’t have to leave the car on the street. Booking by phone was easy. I got an email about payment, check-in, and local information, and there was good communication right up to check-in day. If you’re staying in Peso da Régua, I’d definitely recommend this place. Great value for money! One tip for finding it: following the GPS directions took us only to the street. I’d enter the coordinates sent by email instead, which take you right to the accommodation.
