The owner agreed to give us a partial refund when we asked to leave early, and also offered another apartment. That option didn't work for us because we needed two bedrooms. The house was so uncomfortable that we went elsewhere, where the stay was much more enjoyable for the same price. There was a persistent bad smell, and the place felt very damp and poorly lit. Upstairs, the bulbs barely worked. It wasn't clean when we arrived, with dead bugs on the shelves and a toilet that hadn't been properly cleaned. Cockroaches were all through the house, and scratching noises from the roof kept us awake at night. It didn't meet basic cleanliness or comfort standards, and I wouldn't recommend staying there.

The neighbors' dogs kept me awake on a couple of nights. The house is great if, like me, you want to stay in one place every day, since everything on the island is about 50 minutes away.

The Quinta de Giestas is a lovely place, and I recommend it overall. The beds are comfortable, the bathroom was clean, and the house is very spacious with good conditions. The downside is that the large house faces a road with quite a lot of traffic. There were no basic toiletries, and no leftover staples like salt, sugar, or oil, which are often left by previous guests.

The owner was extremely kind and picked us up from the airport at 1 a.m. so we wouldn't get lost on the way. The room was in very good condition and had all the equipment we needed for comfort. If anything was missing, we only had to ask the housekeeper, who was always there at the Quinta.
