Mercure Ponta Delgada Azores

My room looked out over the pool and the city, and it was clean and quiet enough for a great night’s rest. The hotel sits right in the city center, in a quiet, safe area. Staff throughout the hotel were wonderful, from the front desk team who smiled and shared useful sightseeing advice to the bartenders and restaurant waiters, who were attentive but discreet. Thank you for taking such good care of me during my holiday. I’d happily stay here again if I return to the island.

The hotel is well placed, with easy access to and from the airport. A taxi costs about €12-€15. My room was spotless and comfortable, and everyone on staff was friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was very good, too. The bar and restaurant make a nice stop for a quick bite, and the cocktails were very good with fresh ingredients. From check-in through check-out, it was a thoroughly enjoyable stay.

We spent 10 days here and had an amazing time. The room overlooked the street, so there was some traffic noise, though we could see the sea in the distance. The hotel is bright and clean, in a great location for walking everywhere. The pool and spa are a great addition, and there’s a lovely bar area. Staff were always welcoming and ready to help, and breakfast was fresh and plentiful. Would recommend!

Staff were very friendly and helpful, and the room was fine with a good ocean view. The hotel is in a great spot, just a minute’s walk from Ponta Delgada’s main area. The lounge and bar are fairly ordinary, with one area used for breakfast and dinner. Platinum guests don’t get special access or complimentary drinks there, just the same as regular guests. My Platinum benefits didn’t apply: there was no upgrade to a better room, only the same type with a different view and a bath or shower. Overall, it was okay, but the Platinum advantage promised by ALL Accor wasn’t implemented, and apparently isn’t guaranteed.
