We were sad to leave this adorable hotel, and would absolutely come back. The rooms were beautifully decorated, comfortable, and had everything we needed. Breakfast each day was delicious, with loads of choices including local breads, yogurt, meats, cheese, fruit, and more. We also had one of our favorite meals so far in the Azores at the restaurant, and often finished the evening with a drink at the hotel bar. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly kind. They arranged an early check-in and stored our luggage while we waited for the room. The location was central and made it easy to walk around town. Thank you nine dots for such a great stay. This place is a sweet gem.

The staff were one of the best parts of our stay. My wife injured herself during the trip, and they went out of their way to help. We booked directly, so airport transportation was included. They greeted us on arrival and made our early flight home easy. There's a taxi stand at one end of the street, and a grocery store along the way to the hotel. The hotel has just 36 rooms, so it's relatively small compared with many of the larger places in town. It's on a pedestrian street in the heart of the old town, a very short walk from the marina. We had a double room with a terrace. It was adequately sized, with a comfortable bed and a chair beside a window that ran wall to wall and floor to ceiling and opened onto a large terrace. There was a table and chairs outside for meals, a small built-in table inside, and enough closet space. It's a converted old building that keeps some of its original charm, including a stone staircase for anyone who'd rather not use the modern elevators. Azorean art is displayed throughout. Breakfast combines a buffet with hot dishes made to order. The restaurant was quite good, and local residents ate there alongside guests, usually a good sign. You can find even better food at the many restaurants within easy walking distance. The well-stocked bar has a smaller menu. We didn't use the spa area, which has a beautiful indoor pool. At night, a bar for locals at one end of the pedestrian street can send a few drunk patrons out into the street, along with some harmless homeless people. Nobody bothered us. Taxis and shuttles can't reach the hotel, so you'll need to carry luggage from either end of the street. The staff can help if you ask. We highly recommend staying here in Ponta Delgada.

There's wonderful art on display throughout this beautiful hotel, and the breakfast was excellent. We also had a great evening meal at the etc. restaurant. The etc bar is lovely too. I'll report back about the restaurant later, though I assume it's wonderful! The location in the old city is great, with lots of history, shops, and places to eat. We felt very safe and welcome. Highly recommend this Hotel!

We loved our first visit to San Miguel and our stay at the Nine Dots Hotel. The restored hotel has so many charming details. Its downtown Ponta Delgada location is perfect, with shops and restaurants just steps away and the waterfront a short walk away. We stayed at three nice hotels on three islands, and Nine Dots had the best breakfast. The bistro and bar downstairs were excellent too. We enjoyed sitting outside for a drink and light meal. The rooms are tastefully decorated but rather compact. That wouldn't stop us from staying again if we return. Highly recommend it.

I've stayed at Nine Dots Art Boutique Hotel on São Miguel twice now, and both times it has surpassed my expectations. The service has been excellent in summer and winter alike. The housekeeping team is friendly and enthusiastic, and keeps the spotless rooms in great shape every day. They're fully equipped with modern comforts, and no request feels like a bother. As someone who hikes a lot, I love that the hotel is right in the heart of Ponta Delgada, with attractions and sights easy to reach on foot. Taxis and public transport are just around the corner. The design throughout is elegant and stylish, and the atmosphere feels luxurious and pampering. The spa is a great place to relax, whether in the sauna, by the pool, or with a massage. On a sunny day, you can borrow the hotel's bicycles to explore the city. The restaurant has an extensive menu, while the stylish bar is ideal for a smaller bite or a well-made cocktail. I'll definitely return to this breathtaking island and choose Nine Dots Art Boutique Hotel again. Wholeheartedly recommend it.
