There wasn't much to do in Porches, so we walked to nearby Lords Bar or took taxis to Lagos and Albufeira to get away from the boredom. The apartments themselves were lovely and clean. The food, though, was cold and uninspiring. After the first two mornings, we gave up on breakfast and made toast in the apartment.

The restaurant was first class, with a great choice at breakfast and dinner. Our apartment was spacious and well equipped too. When I left some luggage on the transfer minibus, the lady at reception was very helpful. I'd certainly recommend this hotel and apartment complex to my friends. First class.

The rooms were spotless, and the restaurant food selection was top quality. The place is off the beaten track from the old town, about 25 minutes by taxi, though Bolt rides can be cheap. There wasn't any real evening entertainment, even though it was advertised, and the same went for the kids' club. Also, you need a fob to get into the pool bar if you want a drink.

The beach was only a 10 minute walk away, which was handy when the pool area got really busy. The room was very spacious and cleaned regularly, and the restaurant had plenty of options. Staff were friendly and great throughout, and the service was good from start to finish. For a 3 star hotel, they definitely delivered. I would've liked a few more table tennis tables, though, since the single one by the pool got really busy with other guests.
