Casa do Doutor

We loved staying here. There were eight adults and one child, and the place suited us perfectly. The hosts were very friendly and left us a little treat: milk, coffee, chocolate, water, and walnut liqueur to try. The large bedrooms were cozy, with lovely-smelling, comfortable bedding. There were also two bathrooms with toiletries. The entrance patio gave us a private place to spend time together in the middle of the city, and it was especially nice in the late afternoon when it was shaded. We'd definitely stay again if we return.

The cleanliness really stood out, and the host was very friendly and clearly takes care of the house. It has a terrace, several bedrooms and living rooms, plus two small but fully equipped bathrooms. The beds were comfortable, with spotless white linens, and the furniture was in perfect condition. The traditional touches and modern comforts come together in a simple, elegant style, with high ceilings, wood floors, and big windows with white frames. The rooms are spacious. It's in the narrow streets of Portoalegre, a handy base for visiting Marveo and the surrounding area in the Portuguese Alentejo.
